About CTAP REGION V

Region 5 is comprised of four counties including Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. The area encompasses over 6,447 square miles including coastal communities (such as Monterey, Carmel and Santa Cruz), rural communities (such as Hollister, Gilroy, and King City) and urban communities (such as San Jose, Milpitas, and Santa Clara). The region serves 83 districts composed of 613 schools. There are over 375,000 students in the region taught by over 18,000 teachers and 1,600 administrators. The size of the districts range from the largest, San Jose Unified in Santa Clara County with 32,314 students, to the smallest district, Panoche Elementary in San Benito County with an enrollment of 13 students.
